A Nursing Program for Advancing Training in Health and Social Determinants
NPATHS is a 9-month comprehensive program grounded in community-based, participatory research designed to equip nurse scientists or allied health professionals, with the tools to advance health equity through research-focused training and reflective practice.
What is NPATHS?
This program enhances understanding of social determinants of health (SDOH) and equips participants to address community inequalities through research, advocacy, and professional development.
The curriculum covers socioeconomics, political context, social position, and healthcare systems, emphasizing the impact of structural and intermediary social determinants on health equity. Participants will also have the chance to engage in a mentorship with an experienced mentor to create a SMART goal for a program deliverable aligned with your career stage.
We’re on a mission to…
Enhance knowledge and understanding of SDOH frameworks and concepts.
Strengthen capacity and skills to integrate SDOH concepts in the design, analysis, dissemination, and implementation of research.
Expand the volume and quality of nurse-led research focused on health equity and SDOH through dissemination of research findings.
